CUES Names MECU’s Burt Hash 2012 Outstanding CEO

MADISON, Wis. – The Credit Union Executives Society announced Bert J. Hash, Jr., president and CEO of MECU of Baltimore, is the 2012 CUES Outstanding Chief Executive.

Hash will be honored at the CUES CEO/Executive Team Network Nov. 4 at The Ritz-Carlton Palm Beach, in Manalapan, Fla.

Hash has led MECU, formerly Municipal Employees CU, for more than 15 years, growing the credit union from $435 million to $1.2 billion. He was inducted into the CUES Hall of Fame in 2008.

CUES also will honor six CUES Hall of Fame inductees: Kenneth D. Burns, president Patelco CU; Shelley Clarke, former president of Goldenwest FCU, who is being honored posthumously; Chip Filson, chairman of Callahan & Associates; Fred Healey, Portsmouth, R.I.; Fred Johnson, CUES president.; and, Harriet May, former president of GECU.
