Henson comes to CUNA having previously served as legislative assistant on tax policy and financial services issues in the office of Democratic Alaska Sen. Mark Begich. Prior to working with Begich he was a presidential management fellow at the FHA. At CUNA, Henson will focus on managing CUNA's relationship with Senate Democrats on issues related to data and cyber security, reg relief, tax and consumer matters, and more.

Ryan Donovan, chief advocacy officer at CUNA, said in a statement that Henson's background and ties in the Senate will help the agency in multiple ways.

"He'll be in constant contact with Senate Democrats regarding all legislative activity that impacts credit unions on behalf of CUNA and its members," said Donovan.

Henson joins CUNA not long after the trade association announced a major restructuring, changing titles of some senior staffers and eliminating others.
