CUNA Builds Campaign War Chest

WASHINGTON – CUNA on Tuesday said its political action committee raised $105,000 last month and spent $94,000, leaving it with a new high of $640,000 of available cash heading into the election year.

The biggest contributions from CUNA’s PAC, known as CU Legislative Action Council, went to: Rep. Steve LaTourette, R-Ohio ($7,000); Rep. Kathy Castor, D-Fla. ($5,000); Dave Koehler, a Democratic candidate for a Illinois House seat ($5,000); Suzanne Bonamici, a Democrat running for as House seat from Oregon ($5,000); Rep. Fred Upton, R-Mich. ($4,000); and Rep. John Lewis, D-Ga. ($4,000).

CUNA’s PAC has spent almost $1.3 million, most of it contributions to congressional candidates, in the first year of the two-year election cycle.
