WASHINGTON - (10/17/05) -- CUNA announced Sunday it has hiredScott Earl, former president of the Utah League of CUs, tocoordinate hurricane relief efforts in the Gulf States on behalf ofthe credit union movement. Earl will travel to Louisiana Mondaywith CUNA President Dan Mica to visit damaged credit unions and tomeet with credit union executives. Among the initiatives Earl willhelp coordinate are getting mobile units and supplies into thestorm-wrecked area; providing volunteers to affected credit unions;offering jobs to credit union personnel; and administering theAdopt-A-Credit Union program pairing disaster-area credit unionswith a support partner from another area. Earl's position will bejointly funded by CUNA and CUNA Mutual Group. Earl has worked forthe past two years as the credit union liaison for the Childrne'sMiracle Network, the favorite credit union charity.
