ESTES PARK, Colo. - (09/28/05) --CUNA and the Colorado league areplanning to rededicate a plaque acknowledging the trade group'sbeginnings here at the Rocky Mountain YMCA. The plaque was firsterected on Aug. 10, 1954, the 20th anniversary of CUNA'sorganization, but at some point was removed and has since beengathering dust in CUNA's archives in Madison, Wis. Colorado CUSystem CEO John Dill is being credited with working to have theplaque put back in place. Although the famed local Stanley Hotel isoften credited as the site of the first organizational meeting ofCUNA, it was actually at the local YMCA.
