As part of a suite of business continuity and disaster recovery services being assembled in the wake of the 2005 hurricanes, CUNA Strategic Services has reached an agreement with VoiceGard for a toll-free number credit union members throughout the U.S. will be able to call to check on the status of their credit union.

The service, at 877-CU-LOCATE, has already been programmed to accommodate every credit union in the U.S., whether a CUNA affiliate or not.

Members will call the number, and then choose a menu to find the correct mailbox for their respective credit union.

The credit union will be responsible for updating information, such as any new location at which the credit union is operating, branch status, changes in hours, etc.

The suite of services is part of an initiative being headed-up by Scott Earl, the former president of the Utah Credit Union League, who joined CUNA to oversee a broad disaster recovery program for credit unions.
