BALTIMORE, Md. – A number of credit unions in this state once again are participating in the annual “Roll in The Dough” campaign, the fourth year the program aimed at developing good savings habits has been offered.
Among the supporters are FedChoice FCU, HEW FCU and Municipal Employees Credit Union (MECU). The credit unions, along with participating banks, also are helping back a Roll in the Dough Facebook page.
The grand prize in the 2010 contest is a $1,000 one-year certificate of deposit, while each of the seven sponsoring financial institutions also will award a $100 cash prize to consumers who have visited that sponsor’s branch locations. Two $50 savings bonds will be awarded to the winners of a children’s coloring contest based on age group.
A spokesperson for Roll in the Dough reported that in 2009 the campaign led to $9.9 million in new deposits from more than 4,000 participating consumers. The campaign, which is part of the larger “America Saves” effort, runs through March 6.
