Emily Guldborg is president and CEO of MCFCU

The combined credit union has more than 3,400 members with roughly $80 million of assets. Expanding its member base allows McCone County FCU to leverage more of the latest technology to better serve members, according to a press release on Monday from Montana’s Credit Unions, the state’s credit union league.

The merger was approved by the National Credit Union Administration on Sep. 25 and by members of the $9 million-asset Fallon County FCU. It was effective Oct. 1, according to the press release.

McCone County FCU’s headquarters will remain in Circle. All of Fallon County FCU's staff will be retained by McCone County FCU, which had about $71 million of assets before the merger.

“We welcome the opportunity to expand the credit union mission throughout eastern Montana," Emily Guldborg, president and CEO of McCone County FCU, said in a statement. "We can’t wait to share all of the great financial offerings and modern financial technology that we have with the residents of Fallon County.”

McCone County FCU posted net income of about $405,000 in the first half of 2018, up about 13 percent from the same period in 2017.

Fallon County FCU lost about $152,000 in the first half of the year, compared with earning about $2,000 in the first half of last year.
