CUs Represented At GOP's National Convention 2012

TAMPA, Fla.-Credit union representatives were in full force at the Republican National Convention (RNC) here last week. Officials representing both CUNA and NAFCU were on hand to be part of the festivities leading up to the GOP's official election of Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney to be the party's candidate in the upcoming presidential election. Also on tap was CUNA's "leave-behind project"-so called for the tradition of groups seeking to "leave behind" something for the host city in honor of the convention-in this case, a therapeutic playground for All Children's Hospital. NAFCU Director of Political Affairs Katie Marisic reported the group was having excellent luck meeting with key lawmakers who serve on committees that handle issues important to CUs, such as the House Financial Services Committeee.
