EL PASO — West Texas CU announced a unique partnership with the Mexican Consulate Friday to offer free education programs to Mexican nationals living in the U.S. through the Mexican government's "Plaza Comunitaria" program.

The credit union has agreed to offer a variety of educational programs including literacy, elementary and secondary education to the large Mexican immigrant population.
Classes will be held in the credit union's training room beginning next month.
This is the first agreement of its kind between the Mexican Consulate and a financial institution in the U.S.
