MIDLAND, Mich. — Dow Chemical Employees' CU is giving back $11 million in member rebates this year, a record for the credit union.
The $1.4 billion CU will deposit the money into members' accounts Jan. 1. The reward will be paid to members in good standing and will be 60% of total interest paid on eligible DECU loans, 60% on interest earned on deposits, and VISA Check Card rebates of 0.125% of all signature-based transactions during 2013 and $0.01 for each PIN-based transaction.
"At DCECU, we believe in giving back," said DCECU President/CEO Dennis Hanson. "We return part of the credit union's earnings back to our members because they are the owners of the credit union. We are pleased that 2013 is able to end on such a high note and that we are even able to surpass last year's historic giveback."
