NEEDLES, Calif. Desert Communities FCU has moved into its new location, an old Bank of America building.
The 8,000-square-foot former bank building will enable the $23-million credit union to have a vault, drive-up ATM, and to provide safe deposit boxes.
BofA decided to close the Needles branch last fall. The bank closed the branch at the end of February, leaving the building empty.
The credit union was chartered in 1954 as Havasu Santa Fe (railroad) Employees FCU. It now is a community charter.
