Dort Financial Credit Union in Michigan names new CEO

Dort Financial Credit Union in Grand Blanc, Michigan, has named Brian Waldron as its next chief executive.

The $1.4 billion-asset credit union announced that Waldron, who was most recently senior vice president of lending and chief lending officer at the $6.4 billion-asset Hudson Valley Federal Credit Union in Poughkeepsie, New York, will become CEO on March 18. Vicki Hawkins, who has led Dort Financial since 2009 according to her LinkedIn, is set to retire in April.

“I have always believed in the mission of credit unions and the idea of ‘people helping people’ and making a difference in the lives of their members … I am excited to begin working with the staff at Dort Financial in making a difference in the lives of its current and future members,” Waldron said in a press release on Tuesday.

Waldron has also been assistant vice president at the $476 million-asset Universal 1 Credit Union in Dayton, Ohio, and chief lending officer at the $1.6 billion-asset Scott Credit Union in Edwardsville, Illinois.

“We welcome Brian Waldron to Dort Financial Credit Union and look forward to a collaborative partnership in maintaining our current success and taking advantage of the market and community opportunities,” Wayne Natzke, chairman of the board, said in the release.
