MIDLAND, Mich. – Dow Chemical Employees’ CU marked its 75th anniversary with a weeklong Diamond Anniversary celebration that included food and entertainment, a loan sale, and a drawing for a seven-day, six-night vacation to Diamond Head, Hawaii.
James Penn Jr., who won the Hawaii vacation, said he was in the credit union doing business and saw other members entering, so he thought he would too.
When the credit union opened its doors on July 28, 1937, membership was available only to employees of The Dow Chemical Co.
