MIDLAND, Mich. – Dow Chemical Employees CU paid members $5.7 million in rebates and rewards to celebrate the new year, one of the biggest payouts for 2010.
The payments consisted of a 15% loan interest rebate, a 15% member saver reward and a 0.125% rebate on Visa Check Card debit transactions.
“DCECU is very unique,” said Dennis Hanson, president of the $1.3 billion credit union. “As a not-for-profit financial cooperative, we return part of the credit union’s earnings back to our members because they are owners of the credit union.”
