BURLINGTON, Mass. – Eastern Corporate FCU and Financial Service Centers Cooperative have teamed up to provide remote deposit taking from credit unions with overseas branches.
The service is being offered by Service CU in Portsmouth, N.H., which has begun receiving remote deposits from servicemen and women at its Ramstein, Germany branch.
The joint remote deposit program, which began stateside in 2005 through FSCC’s self-service kiosks, has now expanded to include credit unions and their members anywhere in the world. Guest members will be able to access their credit unions from a U.S. credit union’s overseas branches, as long as their credit union participates in shared branching.
Service CU began testing the remote-capture service in November and went live just before year end.
The $1 billion credit union has branches throughout Germany, all of which are part of the FSCC shared branch network.
