PLANO, Texas - (08/10/04) -- Electronic Data Systems Corp. saidit has won a $750 million contract from the U.S. Department ofHousing and Urban Development to provide HUD with its informationtechnology system. Under the contract, known as HITS, for HUDInformation Technology Systems, EDS will provide personnel,hardware and software, telecommunications, facilities and servicesto deliver HUD's basis IT functions at more than 80 offices aroundthe country. The contract has a base period of four months followedby nine option years with a potential value of $750million.
