COLUMBUS, Ohio – Education First CU has signed a credit card processing agreement for its $6 million card portfolio with Fifth Third Processing Solutions.
The contract also calls for Fifth Third Processing to evaluate the portfolio’s performance and identify growth strategies for the $84 million credit union’s cards program. Education First CU formerly was known as MidState Educators CU.
Fifth Third Processing is a joint venture between Fifth Third Bancorp and Boston-based Advent International.
The Philadelphia-based bank's parent company, Republic First Bancshares, had been roiled by a yearslong proxy battle involving activist investors groups and its former CEO.
