CLARION, Penn. - (08/24/05)An employee of Clarion Onized FCU herehas been charged with theft by unlawful taking, a third-degreefelony offense, for allegedlystealing $12,000 in cash from thevault since 2003.Charged with the crime was Nancy P. Slaugenhoup,54, who failed to show up for work and reportedly traveled to NorthCarolina before turning herself in. Slagenhoup allegedly toldanother employee via telephone that she had removed the money fromthe cash drawer. Police said Slaugenhoup said she had beenborrowing hundreds of dollars at a time before thetheft escalated to $1,000 bundles.
