Employee Guilty Of Stealing $58,000 From Hidden River CU

PITTSBURGH – A former employee in the auditing department of Hidden River CU last week was convicted of stealing $58,000 from the Pottsville credit union.

Jennifer Doyle, 31, pleaded guilty to theft by deception, tampering with records or identification, and misapplying entrusted, government or financial institution property.

The thefts, which occurred between January 2007 and February 2010, were discovered during a routine audit in which Doyle was participating, prosecutors said.

Doyle took investment interest checks and did not allocate them to the correct accounts. Instead, Doyle deposited the checks in her own accounts and used different methods to hide the deposits, prosecutors said.

Sentencing has not yet been scheduled.
