SYRACUSE, N.Y. Empower FCU said it is saving $2,745 per month or almost $33,000 per year after exterior LED lighting upgrades at seven of its branches.
The lighting upgrades, performed by SmartWatt Energy, also yielded a $69,161 rebate through the National Grid Small Business Services Program.
SmartWatt Energy completed a complimentary energy analysis of all outdoor lighting and proposed a plan to replace the lighting at Empower’s existing exterior parking lot, building and drive-through canopy with energy-efficient LEDs throughout the seven branches. The project will have an average payback period of 14 months.
SmartWatt Energy is the administrator and implementation contractor for National Grid’s Small Business Services Program in Central and Northern New York. The National Grid Small Business Services Program helps businesses with an average peak demand of 100 kW or less per month conduct energy-efficient upgrade measures.
