Equifax Acquires Consumer Accounts From CSC

ATLANTA – Credit bureau Equifax yesterday said it has agreed to acquire card services and credit information on tens of millions of consumer accounts from CSC, a Falls Church, Va., partner of Equifax, for $1 billion in cash.

The assets include credit files in 15 Midwestern and central U.S. states representing 20% of the U.S. population. It is the largest independent U.S. consumer credit reporting agency and has been an affiliate of Equifax for more than 20 years.
