ROCHESTER, N.Y. – ESL FCU said its ESL Charitable Foundation has contributed $500,000 to United Way’s Community Fund, one of the biggest charitable gifts ever from a credit union.
The gift is part of the United Way’s Bridge to the Future Challenge Grant to encourage new and increased gifts from local companies to United Way of Greater Rochester’s 2012 Campaign. The goal for this year’s campaign is $25.5 million.
United Way’s Community Fund supports nearly 80 local programs.
