CHICAGO-A former Chicago police officer was convicted of attempting to deposit a counterfeit $1 million check into her account at Chicago Patrolmen's FCU.
Tiffany Brown, 38, was found guilty of forgery, attempted theft and official misconduct. Prosecutors said Brown tried to deposit the check in August 2006, saying it was a windfall from a legal settlement involving Six Flags Great America amusement park in suburban Gurnee. Great America said the check was fraudulent. Brown was stripped of her police powers after her arrest.
