FAA CU First In Oklahoma To Earn Juntos Avanzamos Designation

OKLAHOMA CITY — The $562 million FAA Credit Union became the first CU in Oklahoma to receive the Cornerstone Credit Union League's "Juntos Avanzamos" or "Together We Advance" designation for its "dedicated service" to the Hispanic community.

The Juntos Avanzamos designation symbolizes FAA CU's commitment to the well-being of Oklahoma's Hispanic community, according to the league.

"We pride ourselves on offering products and services that fit the needs of the unique populations residing in our service area," Steve Rasmussen, president and chief executive of FAA CU, said in a statement. "This distinction will allow us to further reach into the Hispanic community and instill trust in our dedicated service to their specific needs, ensuring a healthy financial future for their families."

To earn the Juntos Avanzamos designation, FAA CU offers bilingual services and information, collaborates with and supports organizations within the Hispanic community, and offers affordable products and services fitting the needs of members within this demographic, the league said.

In honor of this recognition, FAA CU will host a flag-raising ceremony and groundbreaking on the extension of its Capitol Hill Branch on Sept. 26.

A number of credit unions in Texas already fly the "Juntos Avanzamos" flag, as the program was started by the Texas Credit Union League prior to its merger with the Oklahoma league to create Cornerstone CUL.
