TAMPA, Fla. – A federal jury last week convicted a man of robbing a San Antonio Citizens FCU branch last year, a little more than week after he was thwarted in his attempt to rob a local bank.
Francisco Feliciano, 41, was convicted of two counts of armed bank robbery, two counts of using or carrying a firearm during the commission of those crimes, and one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm for the April 11, 2011, credit union holdup, which netted him and two accomplices $10,000.
A week before, on April 1, Feliciano and the same accomplices entered a First Bank branch in nearby Lutz with a Glock 9mm semi-automatic pistol but were unable to rob the bank because all of the employees were hiding.
Feliciano’s accomplices, Steven Trubey and Christopher Quinn, have pleaded guilty for their roles in this case. Quinn was sentenced to 14 years and eight months in federal prison. Trubey is scheduled to be sentenced Wednesday.
