Fake Bomb Used To Rob CU

TULSA, Okla. – A man who said he had a bomb in a briefcase robbed a Tulsa FCU branch Monday morning.

The man left the briefcase at the bank, and the Tulsa Police Bomb Squad examined the briefcase and determined it was empty, according to police.

The robber walked into the credit union about 10:40 a.m. and got in a line pretending to be member. Another member got in line behind him and he told the teller to wait on that member first.

The man then stepped up and placed a briefcase on the counter and handed the teller a note indicating the briefcase contained a bomb and the teller should give him money.

She handed him money, and he fled in an unknown direction.
