HANFORD, Calif. – Families and Schools Together FCU broke ground last week to renovate the historic Sears building downtown into its new headquarters.

As part of the ground breaking, FAST FCU invited guests to sign a pillar inside the building to leave a legacy. Dozens of guests scrawled in black ink their names across a pillar amid toasts of drinks.
City fathers hope the $5 million face-lift of the 1946 building by the $80 million credit union will help spur a downtown revitalization. Plans call for the headquarters of the credit union on the first floor, along with stores, offices and restaurants on the second.
