MESA, Ariz. - (04/24/06) A father and son were behindbars last weekend after leading police on a high-speed chase afterthey allegedly robbed the Tempe Schools CU at gunpoint Thursdayafternoon. A Mesa police officer used his patrol car to slam thegetaway car as it was speeding away, forcing the car into a spin,before careening to a stop. Arrested at the scene were ChristopherBaeza, Sr. 42, and his 24-year-old son Christopher Baeza, Jr. Thestolen money and a gun believed used in the hold-up were recoveredin the getaway car, police said. The father-son team are alsosuspects in an armed robbery at the same credit union lastmonth.
