BOSTON - (07/28/04) Members of NAFCU and its boardof directors joined hundreds of Democratic staff and their bossesSunday for the ultimate baseball experience: the Red Sox-Yankeesbaseball game at Fenway Park, as part of a membership-only eventsponsored by the Democratic Leadership Council. The following daythe two baseball teams had left but friendly Fenway was the sitefor another event sponsored by the Democratic National Committee,where CUNA and its members toured the famous baseball stadium andgot their pictures taken with former ballplayers. Besidesbeing a lot of fun, it gave us a chance to talk and get to knowsome of the members in an informal setting, said BillDonovan, chief lobbyist for NAFCU, and a native New Englander whoalso happens to be a Red Sox fan. Among the lawmakers at the Sundaynight game were: Democratic Sens. Joseph Biden (Del.), ChristopherDodd (Ct.), Jack Reed (R.I.), Debbie Stabenow (Mich.), Tom Carper(Del). Reps. Joseph Crowley (N.Y.) and Joseph Baca (Calif.). The82-year-old ballpark, the oldest in the major leagues, was alsohost to several other receptions this week, by the SecuritiesIndustry Association and Fannie Mae, among others.
