JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Fidelity National Information Services said this morning that negotiations aimed at a leveraged buyout of the company have been terminated and it is now pursuing a leveraged recapitalization instead.
The company said it has hired Goldman, Sachs & Co. as financial advisor and mergers and acquisitions law firm Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz is acting as legal counsel to advise on the separate proposals.
The company, which was created by the acquisitions of as many as 10 service providers for credit unions and banks, said it is on track on the integration of its latest merger, Metavante Technologies.
Fidelity National Information shares closed down yesterday almost 3%, after rising more than 10% in the previous two weeks on takeover speculation.
