The Filene Research Institute has named George A. Hofheimer as its new Director of Research. Since 1998 Hofheimer had been with the Credit Union Executives Society (CUES), serving as VP-chief learning officer, where he was responsible for designing professional development programs for credit union executives and directors, strategic research reports, partnerships with consulting firms and executive education curricula.
Hofheimer had also served as Country Manager in Tashkent, Uzbekistan for Price Waterhouse Eastern Europe BV, and two tours of duty in that country in the Peace Corps.
"We are fortunate to have an individual of George's caliber and talents as part of the Institute's leadership team," says Bob Hoel, Filene executive director. "The Director of Research will supervise and evaluate proposals on subjects determined to be priority issues by the Institute's Research Council. He will supervise the work submitted by the Institute's expanding network of scholars and consultants, and bring that work to the attention of our members and potential members."
While at CUES Hofheimer worked closely with faculty on CUES programs at Harvard University, the University of Pennsylvania-Wharton School, Cornell University, and the University of Virginia, as well as with Oxford University and the London School of Business in the U.K.
