Filer Credit Union in Michigan names new CEO

Filer Credit Union in Manistee, Michigan, has named Kyle Gurzynski as its next chief executive.

The $216 million-asset credit union announced that Gurzynski, who was most recently executive vice president of the $116 million-asset Safe Harbor Credit Union in Ludington, Michigan, will become CEO of Filer effective April 25th. He succeeds Patty Preuss, who has been with the credit union since 1994 and has been CEO since 2009.

“We have a great opportunity as a credit union to make a big difference in a lot of peoples lives in our communities … Patty has been a great leader for this credit union and she will be missed greatly, and we are excited for her to enjoy her retirement," Gurzynski said in a press release.

Ahead of her retirement on April 29th, Preuss will assist Gurzynski in acclimating to Filer’s operations and missions in accordance with succession planning.

Gurzynski also sits on the board of directors for the Michigan Credit Union Foundation as its president.

"I'm confident our credit union will do well in the future … I will miss the employees, our board, our committees and of course our members, and I wish them all the best,” Preuss said in the release.
