BAY CITY, Mich. – FinancialEdge Community CU chose three students to participate in its “Financially Made” program, which encourages young people to develop and practice good financial habits.
Over the past several months, participants met with a budget counselor to map out a savings plan to obtain their short-term goal, and attended a financial literacy course that covered saving, credit, budgeting and goal setting.
In return, the credit union established a savings account for the students and provided matching deposits of up to $250 per student.
