FAIRHAVEN, Mass. – First Citizens FCU said its long-time CEO, Charles Simpson, is retiring at the end of the month and will be succeeded by his close associate and chief operating officer of the past 12 years, Peter Muise.

As heir apparent, Muise has been serving as interim president of the $410 million credit union since last September.
Edward Shea, a 20-year veteran of the financial services industry and information technology sector who previously worked as a consultant for First Citizens, was hired as the credit union’s chief operating officer.
