MUSKEGON, Mich. – First General CU said its president Dorothy Lester has announced her retirement after 48 years in the credit union movement, the last 30 as head of the now $40 million credit union.
The credit union's main office in Norton Shores was built during her tenure, as well as two expansions to the building and the construction of the credit union's first branch in downtown Muskegon. Mergers with Andaconda CU and Bennett Pump CU also took place on her watch.
Assistant manager Timothy Hichue replaced Lester as CEO beginning April 1.
