NORTH CANTON, Ohio – ATM maker Diebold yesterday reported a first quarter net of $24 million, up from a net of $1.6 million for last year’s first quarter, which was hurt by a $29 million restructuring charge.
The first quarter gain comes even as the world’s leading ATM manufacturer reported a 6% decline in first quarter revenues to $619 million.
During the first quarter, also marked by the absence of the company’s voting machines operations sold last year, Diebold decreased debt by $100 million and increased its gross margin by 2.3%.
