Florida Hurricane Fund Makes EmergencyGrants

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - (09/02/04) -- The Florida CU Foundation hasreceived $76,211 in pledges to its fund to assist victims ofHurricane Charley. It has used the funding to underwrite 44 grantsof $500 each, and has another 31 grant applications still in thepipeline. The Foundation said it is now entering into "phase two"of the process, in which it will ask applicants for more details ontheir requests for help. At the same time, it is gearing up topossibly help should Hurricane Frances strike Florida thisweekend.
