Bickford was past chairman of the Key West Chamber of Commerce and has been on the Utility Board of Key West since 2006.

The personnel cuts were based on recommendations of outside efficiency consultants who started looking at the credit union operations last year, the credit union said.

The $185 million credit union is being sued over severance pay by its former president John Dolan-Heitlinger, who was fired in November 2007. A hearing on the suit is scheduled for next week.
