FOM Expansions Lead To Name Changes

Two more credit unions have changed names to remove geographic ties from their names. The $460-million Pinellas County Teachers CU is now Achieva Credit Union.

The name change follows expansion to a community charter serving anyone who lives or works in Pinellas County, Florida. Weber Marketing Group and James Clark Design, both Seattle, managed the name and logo change process. Meanwhile, in lake County, Ind., Inland Employees FCU has changed its name to Advance Financial FCU.

The 23,000-member credit union said it made the move as it expands to serve people across Northwest Indiana. The new name comes with a new tagline: "Always Ahead.
