NEWARK, N.J. - (10/14/05) -- The former operations manager ofFairleigh Dickinson University FCU was sentenced Thursday to 46months in prison for embezzling about $2.2 million by opening adozen accounts under phony names, including one in the name of hiscat. Daniel Doyle, Jr., 60, confessed to using his teller code toopen accounts under several aliases, including Danny Ocean, theprotagonist in the hit movie 'Ocean's Eleven,' Anthony Pino, andCocoa Tin, his cat. He was caught last year after transferringfunds between the phony accounts and accounts in his own name, thenmaking withdrawals at ATMs. Doyle was also ordered to repay $1.7million, the loss that the credit union has been able to fullydocument. Doyle is to sell his former home in Califon, with equityof about $300,000, as well as other assets, to put toward therestitution.
