PLANO, Texas - ViewPoint Bank, formerly known as Community Credit Union, which converted to a federal mutual savings bank has rescheduled a special meeting for Sept. 28 to vote on becoming a mutual holding company. A Sept. 19 meeting to conduct the vote came up 3% short of the necessary legal requirement of a majority of all eligible voters favoring the proposal. At that meeting, ViewPoint Bank Board Chairman James McCarley informed members that more than 82% of the votes cast by members to date has been in favor of the proposed Plan of Reorganization and Stock Issuance. The stock offering ended August 16, 2006 and was described as successful by Doug Riedel at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, Inc., the marketing agent/financial advisor for ViewPoint Bank's stock issue.
