Former Great Lakes' CEO Tesdahl Passes

CHICAGO — Raymond Tesdahl, former CEO of Great Lakes credit union here, passed away peacefully at his home in Arizona on Nov. 4.

Tesdahl retired in 1988 after 32 years of service to GLCU. He was also a founding father of the Defense Credit Union Council in 1963, and was well known throughout the credit union community.

Under his guidance GLCU grew in assets from $5 million to $160 million. In addition Tesdahl oversaw the building of GLCU's administrative headquarters in North Chicago. In honor of his memory, GLCU will award a special one-time scholarship in Tesdahl's name next year.

Tesdahl is survived by his wife Joyce, two sons, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
