EL PASO, Texas – GECU, formerly Government Employees CU, is completing construction of an 88,000-square-foot operations center that will consolidate the $1.4 billion credit union’s operations and executive staff.
Employees are expected to move into the $23 million headquarters project starting next week.
The new building eventually will be home to 300 of the credit union’s 680 employees and will house the executive offices, call center, accounting, marketing, human resources, training and compliance. The building was designed to be energy efficient and uses recycled materials and other sustainable design principles.
The credit union's old administrative office will remain open as the credit union's largest branch.
