EL PASO, Texas – GECU employees won a trip for two to New York City, a 42-inch high definition TV, more than 40 pairs of movie tickets, 24 video camcorders and 22 DVD players as part of the MasterCard Priceless Partnership Promotion, aimed at developing new credit card and debit card accounts at the $1.3 billion credit union.
The two-month contest, which was sponsored through TNB Card Services, brought in almost 4,300 new debit card accounts and more than 475 credit card accounts.
The promotion was designed to reward and encourage financial institution employees for cross-selling MasterCard’s debit and credit card products. The motivation for participating GECU employees was an online instant-win game token for every approved card application.
Terri Garcia, a GECU call center agent who generated 20 approved card applications, took home the grand prize: an all-expense-paid trip for two to the premiere of the movie “Made of Honor,” starring Patrick Dempsey, in New York City. Her name was selected from entries from all MasterCard institutions that participated.
