FLORENCE, S.C. – A 71-year-old grandmother working as a loan officer at Health Facilities FCU yesterday was charged with identity theft in the embezzlement of $700,000 from the credit union.

Prosecutors said Christine McLamb used her position to access members’ personal accounts and took out more than $700,000 in loans using stolen identities between February 1998 and October 2006.
The woman was charged in a three-count indictment with embezzlement and aggravated identity theft.
