BURLINGTON, Vt. – The Association of Vermont CUs has received a $130,000 federal grant to help finance financial education programs for the state’s teenagers.
The state league will work with local business leaders, educators and volunteers to teach middle and high school students the importance of financial literacy. It includes balancing a checkbook, saving money, qualifying for a mortgage and use of credit cards.
Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vermont, secured the funding.
