PITTSFIELD, Mass. – Greylock FCU last week said it opened a sixth office for its growing insurance agency in nearby Great Barrington, completing the agency’s expansion through the western Massachusetts county of Berkshire.
The credit union’s insurance arm is the only independent agency in the area to offer products from the three largest auto insurance carriers in Massachusetts. The agency also offers homeowners and long-term care coverage.
The $1 billion credit union purchased the insurance business of Gallup & Casey Insurance Services last year. Recently, Greylock Insurance Agency and Berkshire Life Insurance Co. announced an arrangement allowing members of the credit union a 10% discount premium on long-term care insurance.
