LAWRENCEVILLE, Ga. – Gwinnett FCU announced it will be funding $63,500 in scholarships this year.
The $150 million credit union will be awarding nine $2,500 student scholarships to high school seniors who will be attending college to pursue a degree in education and plan to return to Georgia to teach. Thirteen Career Advancement $2,000 Scholarships will be awarded to eligible credit union members enrolled in an accredited program of study at a college, university or technical institute with the goal of career advancement.
Gwinnett Federal also honors the lifetime achievements of Anderson Byers, retired Superintendent of the Jackson County School System, Louise Radloff, member of the Gwinnett County Public Schools Board and J. Alvin Wilbanks, CEO and superintendent of the Gwinnett County Public Schools, by funding a $2,500 student scholarship in their honor at each of the school systems. The recipients of these honorary scholarships will be chosen by the school systems.
