Half-Hearted Robbery Attempt Gets ShortShrift

LUMBERTON, N.C. - (03/08/05) -- A would-be robber passed a note to aState Employees CU teller with the single word 'cash' on it lastThursday but fled shortly after when his apparent hold-up attemptwas ignored. Police said the suspect, who was caught on videotape,did not show a weapon and they will try to lift fingerprints formthe demand note left behind. The credit union closed for a shortwhile afterwards but reopened for afternoon business.
